Some other things to consider adding:
  • Cough lozenges
  • Childrens panadol / Benadryl
  • Large sewing needle ( splinter removal )
  • Vaseline
  • Water purifying tablets
  • Calamine lotion
  • Allergy medication
Other stuff to think about:
  • First aid kits can be put together using this checklist. However if you would prefer to purchase a pre packaged first aid kit many are available online or in camping, outdoor and fishing stores.
  • Always check contents of first aid kit and expiry dates. If something is used be sure to replace it before your next camping, fishing and 4WD trip.
  • Know how to use everything that is in the first aid kit - saves working it out in an emergency.
  • It may also be wise to have your own seperate snake bite kit. This would include bandage and retractible splint...and remember bandage firmly, splint and immobilise!
