Flathead – Sand
Also known in some areas as the Spiky Flathead. The sand flathead, although it quite looks similar to other flatheads, is in fact a much smaller species. They are a sandy colour with distinct white tails with black bars.
Usually no more than 50cm in length and weighing in at less than a kilogram.
The sand flathead is a bottom dwelling fish which inhabits the temperate waters from Queensland to Tassie and round to WA.
Same methods as the dusky flathead.
