Mullet – Sand
The sand mullet is also known as the lano or tellegalene mullet. A smallish solid bodied fish with a straight back and pointed nose. This fish has a distinguishing large black spot at the base of its pectoral fin. This fish is silver in colour with green colouration on its back.
Most commonly caught between 25cm and 35cm.
The Sand Mullet is most commonly found in the estuary waters around the coast of Australia, however the sand mullet does prefer the more warmer waters.
The Sand Mullet can be caught with your basic light line and hook rig. Best bait to use is bread ( rolled into a ball , worms, and small prawns.
