Perch – Golden
Also known as Callop or Yellow Belly, the Golden Perch is a deep bodied fish. Its colours vary depending on the water in which it is found, for example, the water quality has a significant influence on its shading, from a creamy to golden brown to a dark green with golden tones.
Most common weight is 0.2kg to 3kg.
The Golden Perch inhabit water inlets, rivers, lagoons and dams in eastern Australia. They are most commonly found in the Murray/ Darling River system.
