Not related to the Dolphin ( mammal ) .Also known as Dollies, Dorado and Mahi Mahi. A beautiful looking fish whose colours vary from blue/green to silver/gold. Its dorsal fin is very long and stretches from its head to its tail.
The average weight of this fish is between 2 - 5kg, but it has been known for prized catches to exceed 25kg
Found in the warmer waters of Australia from NSW to WA. They prefer deep offshore waters close to reefs, or other fish attracting objects such as, bouys, logs, etc.
Most often caught with live bait or lures on light to medium tackle.
