Description:


Flounders are relatively small thin fish. It has both eyes situated on the same side of its body. The flounder varies greatly in colouration and usually shares the same colouring as the environment in which they are found, which usually ranges from shades of brown to sandy or green, with darker blotches spread around its body.

Size:


Not a particularly large fish, the flounder grows to about 50cm and weigh in around 1.2kg. However the average flounder caught measures in at 25-35cm and weighs between 0.3kg to 0.8kg

Where:


Flounder are found on sand bottoms in bays and estuaries along the coast.of Australia ( however rarely seen in South Australia ) .

How:


Usually respond well to bait and lures.
